Who knew I would take social media this far in my life?
It feels like forever ago, but when my daughter was born in 2010 I realized that I needed to get out of the Stone Age. Up until that point I had not embarked on the social media bandwagon. I was happy just keeping to myself using email and a telephone to communicate with the rest of the world. Then it happened, my husband introduced me to Facebook….
The times have really changed.
Back in 2010, in my early 20s, I thought that teaching was my life’s calling and I would never change careers. WRONG! After missing over half of my daughter’s first year developmental milestones I started to want a change.
At first I thought maybe if I changed schools that would help. NOPE! By that point my son was already here. The desire to be with my family grew and grew.
Serious Career Changes
So I switched careers and joined the corporate world. What I didn’t realize was that I still would be unhappy and want to be home with my family more. Realistically, I went from teaching in a classroom of 30 high school students to writing curricula for trade schools around the United States.
Growing personally and professionally helped me realize that I can continue to help others like I did in the classroom but from the comfort of my own home. I joined a local non-profit and began expanding my skills with social media beyond just a fun time on Facebook with my friends.
Currently I’m writing the next chapter of my life saga. I’m traveling with my family more. Learning more about businesses far and wide from my home. Enjoying getting to know people and continually growing my knowledge base not only for my passion for social media, but all of the amazing businesses I get to help grow.
